Krabi Day 1 ~ Ao Nang Beach

Krabi | Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3_Part 1 | Day3_Part 2 |

Last weekend we just had a trip to Krabi, one of the most popular tourism spot in southern Thailand. We went to fetch SanJie who is just graduated from University Utara Malaysia (UUM). UUM is located near the border of Thailand.

Getting to Ao Nang
In fact, the crowd of tourists is usually gathered in Ao Nang instead of Krabi Town, because there, Ao Nang is by the beach where you can have a very spectacular view of sunset in Au Nang beach, whereas Krabi is just a town, a comparable lifeless town in a rural area where it locates some 10 kilometers from the beach.

Sanjie and the GF

Upon reaching Hatyai, we had our lunch in Seven eleven convenience shop. As compared to those in Malaysia the counterparts in Thailand are far more versatile and the food is more in variety. I personally love the pork burger, where I can add vegie and dressing by myself, most importantly you could never get it in Malaysia, just as cheap as 20 Baht.
  Versatile "fast food"
Pork burger which I love the most

After a brief window shopping in Hatyai  market, we bought our mini van ticket to Ao Nang from a agent opposite to the Hatyai Railway Station. We were initially offered at 850 baht per person. However we made the deal at 430 baht per person. Come one guy, this is the low season (May to Oct), all the vendors are displaying a normal price, one must bargain hard with the vendors, this is the rule of the game.

The ride was tiring and pretty long, we spent a good 5 hours to reach Ao Nang beach. The ride was not that comfortable because the room in the van was too narrow and some part of the road was bumpy.

Searching for accommodation
We reached Ao Nang at 7 something, we picked a guest house Bernne's Guest House at the rate of 500 Baht per room per night since J hotel (we have planned to stay) was full house. whatever so it was considered quite cheap to us. Remember bargain. If all you need is just a shelter for you to stay, Bernne's Guest house is a right choice, the place is clean and most importantly the bathroom is clean.

Sorry as it was too late and didn't take the photo of hotel. While, it is a good accommodation. The boss is a foreigner, and he is so helpful and friendly.

Sunset in Au Nang Beach
The sunset was a great sensation to my eyes, over there you can see many people snapping the magnificent scene. It gets even more wonderful when it is near to sheer dark, sky turns into orange color, just like a ball room in dimmed light, blue dimmed light.
Do you agree that it is magnificent?

A romantic photoshooting location
Au Nang Beach
The structure of Au Nang is smple, there only two main street where you can see souvenir shop, massage shop, restaurant etc. There are many agents selling tour package along the street too, those package like Phi Phi Island or Four Island is a must if you visit Krabi, however I guarantee you'll get the best rate if you had spent some extra time to ask from more agents.

Soup in flower shape

~ Pancake ~

Pancake is a must try cuisine in Ao Nang. Ya!! It is bloody sweet, and crispy. Actually it is kind like Roti Planta with the saturated milk on top.
There are variety of choices, we picked banana + cheese.

* There are many booths selling island tour package along the beach area. All of them can speak fluent english, thus it is easier to get the package from them.
Besides, the price offered is cheaper too. I was amazed with their service. They are charming and try to explain to us in detail.

Recommended : Nina ( a booth just in front 7-eleven along the beach)

~Next Morning~

The next morning I was awaken early in the morning, it might because I had a strong desire to explore the beach. I took a pleasant stroll along the beach at about 5.30 am. The beach was deserted, only a few stray dogs, they are all playful and enthusiastic, I had some fun time playing with them.

The breakfast was my favorite fast food specially found in 7-eleven

Aunang Beach in the morning

This the morning buddy, I called him coconut, because we were playing with a coconut

If you walk to the end of the beach to the east (I guess lah), there is a rocky hill, there are some sort of wooden staircase for the tourists to hike over the hill, where on the beach over there, the scenery is cool. the is towering rocky hill erects at the seashore.

After that, I got back to guest house and braced myself for the Phi Phi Island Hopping
