HELLFIRE PASS Memorial Museum, Kanchanaburi

It was our first sightseeing in Kanchanaburi, in western Thailand. It is a museum that tells the construction and popular and the story behind the popular death railroad during world war II. The museum is quite remote from the town, we took taxi Tuktuk there. The museum was jointly established by Thai and Australian government to commemorate the dead war prisoners and labors during the construction.

There is no admission fees to the museum but we donated some to help preserve this historical museum. There is an air-condition showroom with all the pictures, model of the railroad and also a mini movie depicting the condition of the construction site. Visitors can hike into the part abandoned railroad that leads to a cemetery of some of the labors that takes at least 3 hours. But we didn't hike because we have limited time.
