I like Penang Road Cendol so much. It is tremendously irresistible when I am strolling in a motorbike under the equatorial hot sun with my Boyfriend. The cendol live up to its fame and popularity. It is icy, and it is so rich with coconut milk fragrance and the brown sugar is so aromatic, ya, can you imagine how great it could be after a ride, the relief is maximum.
The mixture of slightly transparent green color cendol and the red beans rinsing inside the coconut milk with blended ice adding the mix up of brown sugar really make this simple dish become the best ever dish at once.
It is so famous and the sons of the boss have expanded their business to a few branches in Penang island and mainland with the name TeoChew Chendul. While, I felt it is different to taste the chendul in the new franchises. I still prefer the originality in Penang Road. The franchise normally located in shopping mall such as, Komtar walk, Sushine Farlim, Shop lot in Bagan Ajam(butterworth). Thus, it is well equipped with air cond. Thus, if you ever tried it under a scorching sun, you can feel the satisfaction of tasting this. It is definitely tastes way more better than serving in an air-con room.
While, they have expanded the business by having a shop in Penang Road, just few steps away from their stalls. The small shop sell laksa, and rojak. The small shop is equipped with air-con a few tables and chairs but it is too small to fit in the crowd.
This is the laksa. We can see it is crammed full with the fish meat. This is one of the best laksa can be found in Penang too. Laksa, Cendol, Rojak, what such a good combination of cuisine during tea time.
Last month I came here with my matriculation friends after cycling around george town. You can see the satisfaction on our sweaty and tired face. The cendol relaxed us and motivated us to continue the journey.
