Online Passport Renewal 线上更新大马护照

Have you always had a trouble to renew your traveling passport??

Well, thanks to the advance in technology, now our country has finally implemented online passport renewal. It is so much convenient, and it let us bypass the complex procedure and save us the precious time we waste in queue. I was really amazed with this process. As I really never thought there is such an effective and efficient processing in gov department. Sorry to say that, ( i am not criticizing anything, i just want to show a thumb up to this online passport renewal :)

Here is the steps.
Things to prepare
1) photo - white ground. There are some guideline published in the web too.

Background. The background colour of the photo MUST be white. Other background colours are not acceptable.
Applicant must wear dark coloured clothing covering the shoulder and chest
Ladies wearing head cover or hijab must wear dark colours preferably black. Their face must be visible.
Not wearing glasses, coloured contact lenses and head/hair accessories.
The uploaded photo must be in the form of softcopy taken by a professional photo shop. Instant or polaroid photo is not acceptable.
Please refer to the specimen photo for further clarification.
Application which fails to comply with the specifications above will not be processed and will cause delay at the time of collection.

2) Your old passport number, they need it to trace your record.

3) Online

Steps :-
1) Log in to https://eservices.imi.gov.my/myimms/myPassport

2) Fill in your particulars. (Don't worry, it is very simple step where I believe that everyone can do that)
- remember to check where you want to collect your passport. Once u choose the place you need to go to that branch to collect your passport.
- I am from Butterworth (B'w), and the branch is called Immigration Pulau pinang. (Sharing to B'w people)

3) Upload your photo (you can crop the photo, remember to crop your head bigger, and I like a feature where there is a pop up to let us check whether our photos comply all the necessary requirement. If we do, we need to tick on the items.)

4) Payment (only visa or master are allowed. MEPS is not allowed, I am not sure whether it is still under maintenance)

5) Print out the official receipt.
- the receipt will show the time or date available for you to collect your passport. Normally is 2 hours or either the next day after you done the online payment.

6) Lastly. Collect the passport.
- you can refer to your particular state's Immigration office on which counter to collect your passport.
- B'w (Immigration Pulau Pinang), is counter number 1.
* there is no any number required, just walk to the counter number 1, and the officer will let you know what to do next. She is so helpful and kind. )
* please bring along your Old Passport (they need to cut on top), and also Identity Card when you want to redeem your new passport.

So, that's it the process. It is really so much convenient. I saved a lot of time to renew my passport. So, is time for you to save your time on queuing too...
